Paula Deen Potato Soup is a tasty and very healthy soup that you can try at home. Potato contains nutrients, antioxidants, and is gluten-free. Ingredients:

  • 450 gm medium shrimp
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 1 fine chopped onion
  • 2 medium chopped carrots 
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 8 medium peeled and cubed russet potatoes
  • 4 cups whole milk
  • 2 chicken bouillon cubes dissolved in 1/2 cup hot milk
  • Cheddar cheese as required for garnish
  • 1 sprig for garnish dill (optional)
  • Cooked Bacon for garnish

Method:

  • Take a saucepan and, on a medium flame, put 1/2 stick of butter and allow it to melt. Add 1 fine chopped onion and 2 medium chopped carrots. Saute onion and carrots for about 5 minutes.
  • Once done, put 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour and cook for another 1 minute. Take a bowl, pour ½ cup of hot milk, and 2 chicken bouillon cubes mix them well. Take 8 medium russet potatoes, peel off the skin, wash them thoroughly 2 to 3 times with water and then cut into ½ inch cube size. 
  • Add the potato cubes, 4 cups of whole milk and dissolved chicken bouillon cubes in the soup. Keep stirring the soup between and cook it on a medium flame for 15 minutes until the potatoes turn soft.  
  • Once the potatoes turn soft and dissolve in the soup, add 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper powder and 1 teaspoon of salt.
  • In another saucepan, pour 2 cups of water, add 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and bring it to a boil. Once the water starts boiling, add 450 gm medium shrimp and stir well.
  • Watch carefully as the shrimp should be slightly uncooked. Once the shrimp turns pink in colour, turn off the flame after 2 to 3 minutes. Drain out all the water.
  • Once the shrimp gets cold, peel off the shell and chop them roughly. Put all the shrimp in the soup, stir them well and cook for a few minutes. 
  • Turn off the flame and transfer the soup to a serving bowl, and for garnishing, sprinkle with some cooked bacon, grated Cheddar cheese and sprig dill. If you don’t have shrimp at home or cannot find it, you can use corn in your soup.

  • 1 Liter chicken stock
  • 170 gm heavy whipping cream
  • Salt as per taste
  • Black pepper powder as required

Method:

  • Take a saucepan and, on a medium flame, put 1/2 stick butter and allow it to melt. Add 1 medium chopped onion and saute for a few minutes. 
  • Take 2 large sweet potatoes, peel off the skin, wash them thoroughly 2 to 3 times with water and chop them roughly. Put the sweet potatoes in the saucepan and allow them to cook for 15 minutes on a low flame.
  • After 15 minutes, 114 gm fresh or dried chopped dates, 1 Liter of chicken stock and boil on a low flame for 15 minutes. Once the sweet potatoes are completely cooked, turn off the heat and let them cool for a few minutes. 
  • Pour them in the blender and make a puree. Pour the puree into a saucepan, cook on a low flame, and cook for a few minutes. Turn off the heat, add 170 gm of heavy whipping cream, salt as per taste and black pepper powder as per requirement. 
  • Transfer it to a serving bowl and garnish the soup with fresh chopped chives and cream fraise.
